Potential for Life: evaluation meeting and multiplier event

The pilot phase of “Potential for Life” is slowly coming to and end. This new project was designed to give an answer to the growing challenge of disengagement in education and early school leaving. Through the metaphor of a journey, students experience activities that enable them to discover their own and others’ ways of learning (metacognitive abilities), support their feeling of being empowered to better participate in their learning paths and environments, and ultimately contributes to (re)gain their love for learning (motivation, self-determination and resilience).
After developing the pedagogical content and manuals, training the partners at the European level, testing it in 3 countries (Belgium, Luxembourg and Romania) and piloting the implementation through an action-research, the consortium of partners (EPTO - BE, 4motion - LU, Learning for Well-being Foundation - NL, Ofensiva Tinerilor - RO, AMO Reliance - BE and EIEPS - FR) gathered on October 16th and 17th for a 2-day evaluation meeting in Brussels. The meeting was of course an occasion to assess the overall project’s implementation, results and outputs, but also a preparation for the dissemination event that took place on the day after, October 17th, in Brussels (Porte de Hal).
This public event was split in two parts: in the morning, a workshop was offered to provide the participants with a taste of the activities lived by young people and an overview of Potential for Life, its approach and methodology. In the afternoon, results of the research-action and intellectual outputs of the projects (manual and journal, translations, video tutorials and testimonials, prototype app and board game) were presented and the audience was involved in a conversation about the future development of this programme.
Our guests’ involvement and feedback were highly appreciated and a lot of fruitful ideas were harvested, that would doubtlessly help us to design the continuation of the project.
