EPTO is currently looking for a
Communication and Community Engagement Officer
STARTING October 2019 (FLEXIBLE DATE) / PART-TIME (30H / WEEK)
You will work closely with the 2 Co-managers, creating systematic communication in English to a wide network of young people, teachers and youth workers across Europe. You will be in charge of developing and animating the membership network. You’ll be responsible for managing newsletters, social media, handling press and keeping all contacts relevant and updated. You will develop and manage European communication strategy, differentiating message for different target audiences.

Salary is based on the “commission paritaire 329.03” (Belgian legal framework)

Scope of the position:

Development and implementation of a communication strategy
-
Development and engagement of the membership network :
-
Development and implementation of services for members
-
Support members in fundraising and organising EPTO trainings
-
Manage and follow-up the membership application process with new candidates
-
Reach new potential members
-

Promote and publicise the work of EPTO (in English) through:
-
Websites and database updating and maintenance
-
Use social media tools – reach new supporters, disseminate information
-
Prepare e-newsletters – coordinate content, production and distribution
-
-
Create impactful messages and visual promotion tools for an annual crowdfunding campaign
-
Simple design of communication materials – print, electronic, presentations, photo editing
-
Manage communication with contacts, partners and associates (follow-up emails, thank-you letters, phone calls, etc)

Press (contact, press release, press file)
Qualifications Required:
-
Fluency in English, both oral and written (Proficiency in at least one other language, preferably French or Dutch, is a plus)

Familiarity with current ICT tools:
-
Document (Microsoft Office: in particular PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
-
Social media (e.g. Facebook and Twitter)
-
Internet cloud / collaborative tools (e.g. Google Apps, Dropbox)
-
preference to candidates who have knowledge and experience of basic graphic design tools (Adobe Creative is a plus).

Profile:

Experienced in training, non-formal education, youth and diversity education is a plus
-
Experience with grant writing and funding application is a plus
-
Highly organised, detail oriented, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities in an office environment

Writing skills in English

Ability to summarise, find impacting messages

Ability to work productively from a distance within a dispersed team

Able to self-regulate learning in solving simple ICT problems. Passionate about information and communication technology

Able to use collaborative tools (Google Drive and Spreadsheets, Conference Calls; Email)

Joy and willingness to learn and working in teams

Confident in approaching unfamiliar people in meetings or on the phone

Willing to work in Brussels
